Candida is a well-known word these days, mainly because so many people have suffered after it has grown temporarily out of balance in their body at some point. Candida albicans is one of the most prevalent types of yeast that affects human beings. One cell of this yeast fungus can produce over 75 poisons and toxins; these then greatly challenge the immune system, leaving you open to other health conditions and even chronic diseases.
Candidiasis is the result of a chronic, untreated candida overgrowth that has become ‘systemic’. In other words, candida has found its way into your blood stream and set up colonies of fungus wherever was comfortable. It sounds nasty, we know… In fact, pH health’s staff have all suffered from this condition (to varying degrees) at some point in the past, so we know first-hand how debilitating it can be.
Do you have candida?
The next question is an obvious one: Have you got it? The answer is not always simple, unfortunately, but there are always signs if you know what you’re looking for. All too often the symptoms are explained away as normal, accepted as part of life; or they’re attributed to some other cause. For example, headaches are a common symptom of candida overgrowth but it is easy to overlook candida as the culprit because headaches are so common and difficult to pinpoint.
Some of the most common symptoms include skin infections like acne, eczema, psoriasis, fungal nails, ‘irritable bowel syndrome’ and food sensitivity, headaches, mood swings, nasal congestion, asthma, thrush, impotence, infertility, cold feet and hands, body odor, painful joints, fatigue, anxiety, depression, poor concentration and memory, and insomnia. This list mentions a few, but there are many, many more!
The thing is that if you are exhibiting any of those symptoms, the fungus has made your stomach lining porous and escaped from the gut, traveling through the bloodstream to manifest in the cells elsewhere in the body; it as it this point you notice it.
How did you get it?
If you have indulged in a typical Western diet during your life, you’re a prime candidate. Many people have been conditioned to see sugary foods as treats, which couldn’t be further from the truth. In combination with environmental toxins, medicines that challenge the body and alter the hormones (inadvertently feeding candida) the Western diet is the main reason for our sickness. Even though many people realise this, not all of them are aware that the actual condition they’re suffering from is candidiasis, and not just a series of unrelated ailments.
My name is Caroline and I’m a member of pH health’s staff. It may now be obvious that I am well-versed on this subject because of my personal experience with it. Initially, I was ignorant about candida, but it was to become my biggest teacher; it eventually changed my life for the better as it not only led me into my work in health and nutrition, but also resulted in my health and vitality reached unprecedented levels.
It was no walk in the park though. At first, I followed pharmaceutical doctors advice, which only resulted in an expensive, frustrating and ultimately fruitless merry-go-round. When I finally realised that this was only worsening my symptoms, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands, find out what was wrong with me and treat it myself.
pH health recognise that often the most difficult step is diagnosing candidiasis. The symptoms can be diverse but there are various tests that can be done, some even at home. This is worth doing, as when candida overgrowth goes undiagnosed the causes of it are often continued, there can be dire consequences; any number of ailments can intensify and worsen, and Doctors famously only deal with symptoms, so the cause of candida is not addressed and the condition cannot be eradicated.
How can you deal with candida overgrowth?
This used to be the tricky part, requiring a huge amount of discipline and many changes, according to the severity. It is considered one of the most difficult conditions to recover from, but fortunately these days there are revolutionary new products available like Candida Cell Wall Suppressor, which allows you to tackle candida overgrowth quickly and safely from your own home, and with minimal disruption to your daily life.
Of course diet is still a major consideration and changes will need to be made if you are to remain free of candidiasis long-term. You will need to think about a form of detox, leading to a refinement of your diet, so you’ll cut out such foods as cow’s milk, bread, wheat and gluten, and for a time at least, all refined sugar. This is because sugar is yeast’s favourite food. Therefore even fruit, alcohol (especially beer and wine) will have to be given up for a while. All processed foods are trouble, but this is the case whether you have a candida problem or not!
Another point to consider is this: If you find that you are suffering from Candidiasis, it is very likely that you are overly acidic and need to alkalize to bring your body’s pH back into balance. You can use pH test strips to determine your pH level.
Listening to your body is key…
If using Candida Cell Wall Suppressor to remove your candida overgrowth, you’ll find that you don’t have to compromise too much, but pH health recommend that you make the necessary changes to your diet to avoid having to take the product countless times. We are firm believers that prevention is better than cure!
As I found, there is one positive aspect to this condition; the necessary evaluation of your food choices can lead to much better health and immunity. One thing many of us forget to do is listen to our bodies; the body always tells us what it needs and reacts negatively to detrimental consumption; no matter how subtle, the signs are there. Dealing with your candida will be worth the effort. You may not have realised how much it lowers your quality of life until it has gone!
